OWATROL Marine Strip Paint Stripper 2.5 Liters

Properties:

• Gel formula in aqueous phase, does not drip. Solvent and paraffin free. Non-flammable.
• Makes the coating water-soluble. Avoids tedious scraping.
• Non-volatile, does not dry out and remains active for a long time.
• Eliminates several layers in a single application (leave to act for several hours).
• Allows the wood to be completely stripped (except oak and red cedar) because it also removes the stains impregnated in the wood.
• Does not attack plastics, rubbers, synthetic coatings and sound gelcoats.
• Ideal for large surfaces or crafted supports.

Use:

• For use on wood, steel, plastic, polyester, gelcoat, etc.
• Vertical and horizontal surfaces.
• Coverage: 4 m²/l
• Strips varnishes, wood stains, oil-based paints, glycerophthalic paints, alkyd paints, urethane alkyds and antifoulings.
• Ineffective on two-component epoxy and polyurethane paints
• Rinse with water.
• Applicable on all surfaces: metal, wood, plastics, gelcoat, etc., except aluminum.

Applications:

• Always carry out a preliminary test on a small area.
• Apply MARINE STRIP with a nylon brush.
• Apply a thick layer of MARINE STRIP to the entire surface to be stripped.
• Leave the product to work. Check its action with a spatula. If it dries, reactivate it with a fine spray of water.
• The reaction time can vary from 15 minutes to 12 hours depending on the type of coating and the number of layers to be removed.
• When the coating is ready to be removed, rinse with a jet of water while brushing (synthetic brush) or with a high-pressure cleaner (max. 50 bars).
• As stripping is never neutral, on absorbent wood, immediately after rinsing, it is essential to neutralize with a wood cleaner.
• If necessary, lightly sand dry wood (max. 100 grain) to even out the surface before applying the new finish. Using hot water makes it easier to remove the coating.
• Wear rubber gloves, suitable protection and goggles.

Special features:

• No methylene chloride or other volatile solvents (no toxic or harmful fumes).
• Acts alone, without effort, does not dry out, remains active for a long time (removes up to 8 or more coats in a single application).
• Makes paint water-soluble.
