Protect your outboard motor on the water, on the road, and in your driveway.
Motor covers keep your cowling shiny and looking like new for a long time.
The ventilated splash cover is quick and easy to install and remove. Simply slip it into place just before launching your boat for a neat look and extra protection during your day on the water.
Once your boat is back on the trailer or lift, remove the cover and replace it with a full storage cover. While washing your boat, remember to rinse the cowling cover with clean water before hanging it up to dry.
Using a full protective cover on the road protects your engine from flying gravel and other road debris, as well as unsightly insect buildup. During storage, the cover protects it from damage caused by birds, bad weather, UV rays, and even a stray bicycle in the driveway. It also helps to protect it from dust and rodents.
Why would you need a cover?
The truth is, the marine environment is harsh on our equipment. Sun, salt, tow ropes, docks, tree branches, and fishing lures damage the surfaces of your boat and engine over time. The best way to protect the cowling—the most visible part of your engine—from scratches and bumps is to use a cover.
Of course, your trips out to sea may be limited to peaceful cruises at sunset, and you may be lucky enough to be able to store your boat under cover, in which case an engine cover is not essential. But if you're concerned about the long-term effects of the weather on the appearance of your engine, it's definitely a good idea to invest in outboard engine covers for optimal protection.
Genuine Mercury engine covers
The style of a Mercury outboard motor is classic and inimitable. To preserve its legendary, impeccable appearance for as long as possible, choose an original Mercury engine cover to protect it on the water, during trailer transport, and during storage. Mercury offers two types of covers.
Mercury ventilated splash covers are designed for use with the outboard motor running. Made from Polysoft, a specially designed marine fabric, they fit perfectly over the cowling of your Mercury outboard motor and feature strategically placed vents for optimal air circulation.
Mercury Tow-n-Stow storage covers are designed in the same way, but are intended for towing and storage. A retaining strap ensures that they are securely fastened. Both types of covers proudly display the Mercury logo corresponding to the engine model and are lined with soft felt to preserve the glossy finish of your engine.
Mercury engine covers are specific to each model and available at Piecesbateaux.com. Ventilated splash covers are available for most Mercury outboard motors 75 hp and above. Tow-n-Stow storage covers are available for most models 40 hp and above. Please contact Piecesbateaux.com customer service if you cannot find the right cover for your engine.
