Filters for Inboard motors
Filters for Inboard motors
Filters ensure the longevity of your boat's engine by protecting it from clogging. To keep your engine running smoothly, you need to check the condition of your filters and service them at least once a year.
To protect your engine from impurities and condensation, it's essential to install high-quality filters. Without filters, or with filters that are too old, your boat's engine can suffer irreparable damage. For optimum protection, it's essential to use filters that are adapted to your engine and the fuel used. Motorboats and outboards are equipped with 4 different types of filter.

Fuel filter
Always present in the engine, the fuel filter acts as a fuel purifier, trapping particles and bacteria in the fuel.
By separating fuel and water from condensation, the fuel filter helps maintain your engine's performance and ensures your safety and that of your boat. The fuel filter should be replaced every winter, once a year.

The oil filter
The oil filter is made up of a filter membrane, a protective metal casing and a gasket, and traps impurities and dirt in the engine oil. Using a top-of-the-range oil filter prevents your engine from clogging. The oil filter must be replaced at every oil change, just like a car.

The air filter
The air filter ensures clean air for your engine's combustion. A quality air filter prevents the carbonization of dust and limits engine clogging. The air filter should be changed after approximately 200 hours of operation.

The separator/settler filter, or water filter
The water filter protects your diesel or gasoline engine's injection system by separating the water condensing in the fuel tank from the fuel. As water is heavier than your fuel, it settles to the bottom of the tank. If you have a carburettor engine, the passage of water at start-up will eventually force you to clean your carburettors. In the case of an injection engine, you can irreparably damage your injection pump.
