It fills the space between the threads, creating a seal and at the same time securing them.

LOCTITE® 577 is designed for locking and sealing metal threaded pipes and fittings, as well as other threaded assemblies. The product provides instant low-pressure sealing for metal pipes and fittings. It does not loosen, shrink or crack. It has excellent chemical and thermal resistance and prevents migration into the fluid after application to the part.
