Description

Turn your smartphone or tablet into a full-fledged marine dashboard with the Mercury SmartCraft Connect Mobile (part no. 8M0173128). This compact and discreet module is the official successor to VesselView Mobile (now discontinued by Mercury) and includes all of its features, enhanced by the Mercury Marine app (free, iOS and Android).

Once installed under the hood of your engine, the module automatically connects via Bluetooth to your Mercury’s SmartCraft network and streams real-time propulsion performance data directly to your mobile device.

Engine compatibility

This 8M0173128 module is designed for single-engine applications

• Compatible with all Mercury SmartCraft outboard engines 40 hp and up from 2004 onward and Mercury 25- and 30-hp engines from 2022 onward.
• Compatible with Mercruiser SmartCraft engines from 2010 onward.

Important points to note

• Direct mounting on the engine (under the cowl) — does not support NMEA 2000 connection
• This module is not compatible with Garmin, Simrad, Raymarine, or Lowrance multifunction displays.
• Not recommended if you already have a VesselView 403 or a VesselView Link
• Box contents: 1 pre-programmed module + 4 mounting clamps
• The Mercury Marine app is free and regularly updated

Installation

Plug-and-play installation, with no additional screen or complex wiring. The module mounts under the engine cowling using the included clamps and connects directly to the engine’s SmartCraft interface. Once installed, it automatically reconnects to the app every time the engine starts. Installation by an authorized Mercury dealer is recommended if you are not familiar with SmartCraft wiring.
