The 120 F [49 C] thermostat P/N 8502792 currently used on models is no longer available and is being replaced by a 130 F [54 C] thermostat

• 225/250 EFI, S/N 0T409000 through 0T598999 2002 model year

The new thermostat has a thicker gasket, which is glued to the thermostat.

The thicker gasket on the new thermostat will require the use of a new thermostat cover.

For standard production (non-high performance) outboards, order a new 130 F [54 C] P/N 8M0057307 thermostat to replace the 120 F [49 C] thermostat and order the thermostat cover from the list below.

• OptiMax 3.0 liters 2000 and newer Port 887601 and Starboard 887602

NOTE: Kit P/N 885599A1 is available for Optimax 2000 and newer engines, which includes port and starboard covers, two cover gaskets, and two 130 F [54 C] thermostats.
