Which propeller for a 50hp Mercury engine?

The choice of propeller depends primarily on the type of boat and how you use it (pleasure boating, fishing, water sports) and the water conditions (calm, rough sea, depth). For a 50 hp Mercury engine, a 10-1/4 x 14 propeller is often recommended to achieve a good compromise between top speed and low-end torque.

For example, for towed sports, a propeller with a lower pitch (13) provides better acceleration and increased maneuverability. On the other hand, for long-distance trips where speed is important, a higher pitch (15 or 16) allows you to take full advantage of the engine's power and reach higher speeds.

It is also advisable to check the type of base plate to be sure of the number of splines.
